Chelsea and Phil – Shadow Lake Wedding Photography, Penfield NY

Chelsea and Phil are two extraordinary individuals, and I am so glad they found each other. I have know Chelsea for 6 years now (oh dear god we are old), she is a college friend. Through all of the prince not-so-charrings, she found Phil. Even though it may have taken them a bit to figure it out, they compliment each other perfectly. They are kind, creative, blazingly sarcastic in the best possible way, loyal, and I have never seen Chelsea more at peace than she is now. It was truly an honor to photograph their wedding.

We started the morning with Chelsea, and her adoring family and friends. They laughed their way through mimosas while they prepared for the rest of the day. Chelsea is an exceptionally talented artist, so it was no shock that she had picked out the most beautiful, and unique details to compliment her wedding day look. From a hand-made hair piece, to DIY DC and Marvel boutonnieres, to a gorgeous brooch bouquet  (I told you she was talented!), to the prettiest gauges I have ever seen, the entire ensemble was so perfectly her. After seeing it all come together, we made our way over to Sunken Gardens for their first look.

Now, up until their first look, it had been pouring. Mother Nature must have known how special these two, because she let up just in time for their pictures. Amid puddles and the very friendly local cat, Phil saw Chels as a bride for the first time and had the sweetest reaction you could think of. The beaming smiles only started there as they, accompanied by their fantastic bridal party, made their way around Rochester for their portraits. With stops at Memorial Art Gallery, and High Falls, we made our way over to Shadow Lake for their ceremony.

Among those they cherish the most, especially Phil’s son Josh, they were married. If you are going to know anything about Phil and Chelsea, it’s that they love Batman. After sealing the start of this new chapter with a kiss, they cheered their way back down the aisle to both the Batman, and Game of Thrones theme songs.

That was only the start of the references to the things they love so dearly. Their reception was the perfect balance of elegance and Batman. From themed entree items, to table names (and can we talk about the epic donut wall??!), and beyond, it was a wonderful reflection of who they are together. Sweet toasts kicked off a night of celebration, complete with a beautiful first dance and tons of dessert. It was a wild, and fantastic party to honor Chelsea and Phil’s new step in their lives together.

Chels and Phil -Congratulations you two!! You are both truly spectacular people, and I am so glad you found each other. Thank you for living in the moment for your entire wedding day, it was an honor to document it. May this only be the start of your laughter together.
