Daizi and Justin – Classics V Wedding Photography, Amherst NY

You know it’s going to be a good wedding day when you walk into a bridal suite and all  you hear are people talking about pizza and bagels in a Long Island accent. For anyone who doesn’t know, I have a deep love for bagels and pizza (especially the Long Island kind, as if there is any other), and grew up on Long Island so it was a match made in heaven from the start. Daizi and Justin’s wedding day only went up from there, they were utterly determined to have a wonderful time — no matter how hot it got.

We started the morning with Daizi and her girls (and LI bagels, let’s be real) where they spent pretty much the whole time in hysterical laughter. From the second you entered the room, how much they all adore her was palpable, everyone was thrilled to see her so happy. Daizi is an exceptional human being who’s warmth and laugh lights up the whole room, and their wedding day was no exception. From her mother’s wedding band, to her late stepfathers shirt over her heart, to bracelets engraved with the coordinates of where she met each bridesmaid — everything was so thoughtfully done. We got her all ready to marry Justin, and made our way over to the Raddison on Grand Island for their ceremony.

Now if the thoughtfulness of the morning was any indication of how thoughtful this wedding was, you can only imagine the ceremony. Daizi and Justin were married by a dear friend of the family, surrounded by their dearest loved ones with the gorgeous Niagara River in the background. They exchanged wonderfully sweet vows, and beaming grins while they officially started the next chapter of their lives together.

After a brief stop at Beaver Island for portraits, we headed over to Classics V for the celebration. The night kicked off with moving toasts, and an emotional song sung to Justin — and it only went up from there. There were both fun and sentimental dances (Daizi and her mom tore up the room with some ballroom skills, and Justin had a beautiful dance with his aunt), tons of dancing (with pizza as a dance partner), a rapping bride that could hold her own with Nicki Minaj, and a killer sparkler exit. Daizi and Justin truly lived their day from start to finish, they were always in the moment and enjoyed every bit of it. It could not have been more of an honor to document the celebration of two spectacular people.
