From the second I met Sam and Jacek at their engagement session (during which they laughed through 90% humidity), it was so clear how great they are together. They are entirely at ease with each other, and the immediate reaction to seeing them is “oh, that makes perfect sense”. They just have that thing where you know that they are each other’s true partner. They laugh their way through life, and their wedding day was no exception.
Both parties started the day at Memorial Art Gallery, and you could hear their excitement from down the hall. I am a firm believer in the people you surround yourself with being a reflection of who you are, and Sam and Jacek have the most wonderful humans in their lives. The excitement in the room was palpable, and the sense of joyous anticipation didn’t falter for even a second until they saw each other for the first time.
Sam and Jacek opted for a first look to keep that moment intimate and enable them to spend the day hanging out with their people. Their grins only grew as the (slightly freezing) day went on, and even the sun made an appearance for the extraordinary day.
That sense of witnessing something special only continued as the day went on. From heartfelt vows and a unique ceremony that completely reflected who they are together, to the most fun first dance I’ve ever seen, to toasts that induced eyes-closed laughter, every person there was so excited to celebrate. As soon as the day floor opened, it didn’t stop being packed until Sam and Jacek danced their way through sparklers at the end of the night. It was a truly perfect day.
Sam and Jacek – Congratulations you two! Thank you for all of your kindness and for being such troopers in the freezing cold. You are the absolute best and it was genuinely an honor to photograph your wedding day.
